Trip Overview:
16-20 miles of moderately technical backpacking over the course of 4 days. Four days of remote base-camp living filled with Wilderness Directions day and evening activities.

Canyon Trip: Location Description
This eight-day expedition will take place in the remote wilderness of Fish and Owl canyons in southeastern Utah. We will cover a distance of about 18 miles. Travel is rated as moderate to strenuous, in sections. Moderately technical canyon-travel skills will be used to navigate vertical terrain. Wilderness Directions will supply the technical and group equipment.
Cost: $950

Mountain Trip: Location Description
This trip will take place in the remote wilderness of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of southern Colorado. Our eight-day expedition will start at an elevation of 8,600 ft. Most of the expedition we will take place above 10,000' and at time as high as 12,600' . We will cover a distance of about 20 miles divided into relatively equal days of travel on days one, two, seven, and eight. Travel is rated as moderate to strenuous, in sections. Wilderness Directions will supply the technical and group equipment.

Instructors:

John P. Engel holds an MA in Ecopsychology from Prescott College. John is an adjunct faculty member in the Environmental Studies Department at Naropa University, a graduate school advisor for Prescott College, facilitates outdoor-based workshops and retreats throughout Colorado, a volunteer naturalist for the City of Boulder and Boulder County.

Michael Jospe, M.A. is dedicated to supporting personal transformation through earth-based experiences. Michael instructs for Naropa University's Wilderness Therapy MA program, is an adjunct faculty at Western State College and facilitates teens and adults through his Soul-Based Learning Model. He lives in Boulder, CO.
